The Passing Away of Sister Amina Ahmed

President Message

As-salamu Alaikum,

We are saddened and shocked by the sudden news of Sister Amina Ahmed passing away this weekend.  Sr. Amina has been a longtime community leader and was recently appointed to SeaTac City Council, becoming the first Muslim/Somali council woman in Washington state.  She died in a tragic car accident on Saturday afternoon. May Allah swt grant Sr. Amina mercy and forgiveness and the highest station in Paradise.  Ameen.  We send deepest condolences to her two children, extended family, and the wider community.  May Allah swt grant strength, patience, and comfort to all her loved ones.  Please pray for Sr. Amina and her family.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon.  “Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return”.

The Janaza (funeral) prayer will be at Abu Bakr mosque in Tukwila Monday at 12:30 pm. There will also be a vigil at SeaTac City Hall on Tuesday at 5 pm to remember Sister Amina. Please join if you can.
