As we explained during our 2021 MAPS Annual Celebrations on April 17th, we are undertaking an expansion of the current MAPS facility by adding 4,600 sq. ft. of additional space for classrooms and MPR Halls to alleviate acute shortage of space we experienced before the onset of the pandemic. Here is a short video that explains the expansion project in the context of our plans 2021. Here is the current status of the project.

- Permit Approved by City
- Project Manager Hired
- Contractor to perform the project is being finalized
- Expected Completion by Year End IA
- The projected cost of the project is between $800K to $1M.
ARTICLE 7. Section 1. of the MAPS Bylaws require any expenditure above 20% of the annual budget to require approval of the General Assembly. Per ARTICLE 6, Section 4, The President can call for a Special Meeting of the General Assembly.
Therefore, I am calling for a Special Meeting of the General Assembly on May 7th immediately after the Friday Prayers for the purpose of approving the budget for expansion project. The voting members can cast their ballot between 1:00PM and until Midnight on May 7th inshaaAllah by verifying their membership. We will also do a short presentation of the project and the voting process right after Isha prayer on May 1st inshaaAllah. This will be broadcast on our social media channels.
