Invitation to MAPS Annual Celebration: Saturday, April 17, 4:00pm (Online)

Asalaam alaikum (peace be upon you):

I am excited to invite you and your family to our virtual Annual Celebration on Saturday, April 17, from 4:00-6:00 pm PST. During this time, you will hear from a number of community members, who are at the forefront of leading various MAPS programs and services. You can join virtually on the MAPS website or on Facebook or YouTube. In addition, I will provide an update on the progress we have made over the past 12 months in one of the most difficult times in our memory, along with a roadmap of what lies ahead for us in the next 12 months. I feel blessed to be part of this community whose generosity and personal sacrifices have enabled MAPS to come this far in a short span of 15 years, alhamdulillah (thanks and praise be to God)!   Here is a preview of what you can expect to hear during the annual event:

  • The experiences with MAPS of our esteemed scholars Sheikh Alaaudin Al Bakhri, Ustadh Ubaydullah Evans, and Sheikh Yassir Fazaga;
  • What the last 12 months have been like for our imams, Sheikh Mohamed Joban and our Education Director Sheikh Adam Jamal;
  • The Ramadan greeting messages from Governor Jay Inslee and Congresswoman Suzan DelBene to MAPS and the Muslim community;
  • What MAPS is doing to address the mental health of the community in these stressful times;
  • How we rose to the challenge through MAPS-MCRC and Al-Sadaqa to serve the many individuals and families devastated by COVID or otherwise in need of assistance;
  • How MAPS is now supporting small businesses in the region with the impact of the COVID shutdown;
  • How we continued our outreach and advocacy work through MAPS-AMEN during a pandemic and in the wake of the national uprising for racial justice;
  • The massive once-in-a-lifetime transformation happening in Redmond around MAPS and what this means for our community moving forward;
  • And much more!

Please don’t miss this once-in-a-year gathering we have to celebrate our accomplishments together and prepare for the work ahead. We look forward to your attendance, participation and continued support, insha’Allah (God-willing). May you increase your rewards during this blessed month of Ramadan by joining us and contributing to YOUR mosque and YOUR community! Ameen.

Thank you, wa’salaams.
