Celebrate World Hijab Day with MAPS
January 28, 2023 @ 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm
February 1st marks World Hijab Day, an annual event that celebrates the modesty, beauty, and strength of Muslim women. For the first time this year, we are proudly celebrating the day at MAPS Gym on Saturday, January 28, between 12 and 5 p.m.
The event will include talks and a panel discussion. Visitors can enjoy food, socialize with their sisters, and browse the latest hijab styles. Guest speakers will talk about their challenges and triumphs of upholding their religious values.
Tickets for Hijab Festival are $5.00 per person. Please see the link below. Attendees can exchange their ticket with a hijab of their choice at the Preloved Hijab table.
Preloved is a business concept created by people who sell items they used to love, but don’t use anymore. With a group of 25 Muslim girls, sister Samia Elkowessny, one of the guest speakers and founder of Hijabista Girls, gathered more than 1,000 hijabs. “We washed every single hijab, ironed them, and made them ready for sale,” said sister Samia. The money they gather from the sale will be dedicated to the World Hijab Day organization in New York City.
Please join us for a fun, informative, interactive, and valued at MAPS.
