MAPS Special Needs Services
MAPS strives to provide an inclusive environment for our community members with special needs and disabilities.
The building has a wheelchair-accessible prayer hall and bathrooms (including wheelchair-accessible wudu areas). We also offer Sunday school for special needs children (more info below).
In addition, MAPS hosts a monthly, virtual support group for families and quarterly social events at MAPS. To register for our support group, please visit bit.ly/muhsensupport.
To join the MAPS MUHSEN network for caregivers or volunteers, or for any other questions about our services, please email muhsen@mapsredmond.org.
MUHSEN Certification
MAPS has achieved certification from MUHSEN (Muslims Understanding and Helping Special Education Needs), a non-profit organization helping masajid establish a more inclusive environment for our community members living with disabilities. MUHSEN helps advocate, educate, train and implement programs and services nationwide to improve access to masajid for individuals with special needs as well as promote their acceptance and inclusion by the community.
In order to better understand the needs of individuals with disabilities, we are requesting families with special needs fill out MUHSEN’s Needs Assessment Survey*.
