Prayers at MAPS During COVID
“O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu’ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.” [62:9]
Friday/Jummah prayer service and 5 daily prayer services are available at MAPS with required registration and limited attendance.
Our prayers are held in the main hall/gym, and you must register and follow the health guidelines below to attend any prayer service.
Registration for all prayers is available using Smart Jamaat App.
Below are our COVID safety guidelines for Jummah and regular prayers.
Please read this in full before registering for any prayers.
- Attendance for Friday/Jummah prayers is limited. It is mandatory to register using Smart Jamaat app. Entry will be denied to those without registration.
- Any person who has symptoms of COVID-19 including a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater must not attend. We do temperature checks at the entrance.
- Any person with a household member who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or with symptoms of COVID-19 including a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater must not attend.
- High-risk individuals (age above 65 or those with underlying health conditions) should take extra precautions and consider praying at home, since data about COVID seems to show that it impacts persons over 65 years old more severely, with a higher risk of serious complications or death if COVID is contracted. Those who choose to nonetheless attend do so at their own risk.
- Face-coverings / masks are mandatory for everyone, and must be worn at all times during the prayer service.
- Please follow social distancing at all times and occupy marked spaces only. Please do not shake hands, kiss, or otherwise physically touch those who are outside your household.
- Please do not congregate in groups before or after the prayer.
- There are no wudu/ablution facilities open at MAPS. Please be sure to make wudu at home.
- Please bring your own prayer mat/rug, even though we will also offer individual paper mats (along with individual bags for your shoes).
- Please enter from the north (men’s) side and exit from west (church) side of the building. All other entrances will be locked.
- If you have a chance to attend, please be considerate and allow others the opportunity to sign up in the following weeks until we can fully resume services with a greater capacity.
If you answer “yes” to any health-related question in the questionnaire, please do NOT register as you will NOT be allowed in the masjid. We have had to cancel a few registrations in the past based on this.
If you were able to attend Jummah/Friday services in the last 2 weeks, we also ask that you please wait until 10:00am on Friday morning and check if space is available before signing up again, in order to allow others who haven’t yet attended an opportunity to sign up.
New Prayer Times
Jummah: 1:00pm, 1:45pm, 2:30pm
Since this is not a full opening and attendance is limited, MAPS will continue to offer a virtual Jummah/Friday khutbah at 12:00pm for those who are praying at home.
Zoom link for virtual khutbah: https://zoom.us/j/948427745
Meeting ID: 948 427 745
Pass code: 3377
We hope that you remain safe and healthy and take appropriate precautions as we continue to fight against this pandemic. Please pray for an end to COVID and the full reopening of our masjid, along with peace and well-being for all.
