Our hearts go out to the victims of the shooting at the Cascade Mall in Burlington. This time violence struck home. On behalf of all of our community, I would like to express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and our sincere gratitude to the law enforcement officers who apprehended the suspect.

A few hours ago, Governor Jay Inslee said, “our entire state is united tonight.” Indeed, we are all united in light of this tragedy. I ask our community to join hands with our neighbors and friends in eradicating hate, to attend vigils remembering the victims and to take a strong stance against gun violence.
