New Volunteering Opportunity: MAPS Website Team (Maps Online)

MAPS Online is growing and needs more volunteers to help with the website. If you are interested, join us. We are a mix of different talents and looking for more people who can work with WordPress, make updates to the site, review our analytics/SEO, do graphic design, or do anything else website-related.

MAPS website is regularly visited and updated and requires keeping up with all the programs and events happening at MAPS.  Coming up with the right design, systems and content will be great service to all those coming to MAPS.  Due to Covid, some members only get to connect with MAPS through our online activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Regular committee meetings every two weeks
  • Discuss ideas and strategies to make the website better, more fresh and engaging
  • Update the website content
  • Design new pages
  • Install / build WP plugins to enhance the website
  • Report on site metrics/SEO/Analytics
  • Work with paid marketing/content staff/agencies to get the best out of their expertise

Requirements:
Attention to detail, accurate grammar, and dedication to tasks are a must. If you know programming/WP, SEO/Analytics, HTML/Css, graphic design MAPS needs you.

Time commitment is expected to be between 5 to 20 hours a month. For website updates, a fixed schedule helps a lot.

Our website is an integral part of MAPS, where people depend on a daily basis, and as a part of the team you can help MAPS reach more people and better serve its members by improving the website.

There will also be a lot to learn and experiment, and website management/leadership skills picked up here could be relevant for future work or business opportunities.

Instead of only visiting the website, be on the other side and help build it.

Please email ibrahim@mapsredmond.org to discuss this volunteering opportunity.
