Welcome to Quran Memorization Program

MAPS is pleased to announce registration for 2023-2024 Quran Memorization program with Sh. Aslam. Quran memorization is a way for the Quran to be preserved in our youth’s minds and hearts. Quran memorization sharpens the memory and brings barakah (blessings) to your life. It is a gift where your child will have Quran to enjoy for the rest of their life and in the Hereafter. It will be said in the Hereafter: “Recite! Your level will be raised according to your recitation of the Quran!”

Memorization Programs

Time: 5:30pm  –  7:30pm

Days: Monday – Thursday

Date: September 4, 2023 – June 20, 2024
(with breaks in Ramadan and school holidays)

Methodology

There are two groups of students when it comes to Quran memorization:

  1. Beginners (memorizing Juz’ Amma)
    Beginner students’ main focus is on completing Juz’ Amma while becoming used to the process of memorization, starting with a few lines a day to eventually aiming for 1/2 page per day.

  2. Advanced (have completed Juz’ Amma or more)
    Advanced students’ main focus is not only on each day’s new lesson but also repeating the previous week’s lessons and having a process in place for reviewing previous memorization. Review is crucial to the Quran memorization process.

The completion time is different depending on a number of factors but, primarily, on parental support, memorization ability, and persistence of the child. Other factors include: time spent outside of class with the lesson, punctuality, and health.  

For Full-time students, we estimate a completion rate of 2-3 years. For Part-time students, we estimate a completion rate of 4-6 years.

Requirements and FAQ

Students ages 8 – 18 must be able to read the Quran fluently. If they are not able then they may register for our other Quran classes. Once they can read fluently, they will be cleared to join the Hifz program.

Online and On-site

Students are able to attend both in-person with Sh. Aslam in the Education room 113 as well as online over Zoom simultaneously. As long as the instructor knows when to expect the child then he will make sure that your child gets time to read. You will need to inform the teacher of your schedule if you are not able to attend some days or times.

Start Date

Because of the individual nature of memorization, this program has rolling admission: start anytime. However, seats are limited so apply soon.  

Curriculum

Each student’s curriculum is personalized according to their personal progress with Hifz. Sh. Aslam uses a tried and tested method for Quran memorization.

The program is $175/month.
