Mahmood Khadeer Profile

Mahmood Khadeer brings over 27 years of dedicated community service experience in Islamic institutions across the United States. As one of the founders and current Board of Trustees member of MAPS (Muslim Association of Puget Sound), he has contributed significantly to the organization’s growth since its inception. Mahmood has held multiple leadership positions, including President, Vice President, and Board Member. He also served as the Project Manager, overseeing the construction of the MAPS facility. Additionally, he was President of Medina Academy, an Islamic school on the Eastside. Before relocating to Seattle, he held the role of Secretary at the Huntsville Islamic Center in Alabama, where he played a pivotal role in fundraising for the construction of a new Masjid. Currently, he is spearheading the expansion of MAPS by establishing a comprehensive MAPS Campus in Redmond, addressing the community’s diverse needs. (~ $50M project)

In his professional career, Mahmood has over 30 years of experience in the software industry, holding various executive roles. He has led global customer support, services, engineering, and operations teams at tech giants such as Microsoft, Google, and Intergraph. His tenure includes over two decades at Microsoft and four years at Google, where he drove impactful initiatives worldwide.

Mahmood is a proud husband to Salma Khadeer, who dedicated 19 years as a pre-K teacher at Medina Academy. Together, they have three children: Muneeb, Mahin, and Samreen, and are blessed with five wonderful grandchildren: Nurah, Issa, Inayah, Ismail, and Rayyan.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from NIT Warangal, India, a Master’s in Cybersecurity, and an MBA from the University of Washington.
