Professionally, she is the Executive Director of Humanitarian Tracker, a global organization that uses crowdsourcing and technology for social good. Humanitarian Tracker’s data on education, health, development needs and conflict has been used by USAID, State Department, the United Nations and official news organizations, elevating otherwise marginalized voices from the ground. Prior to that, she worked with the United Nations in the Middle East and Africa. 

Hend earned her Master of Public Diplomacy from the Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California, and a B.A. in International Development from the University of California Los Angeles, with a focus in Middle East and North African studies. Her interests include traveling with her family, cycling and all things related to her girls.
