“Zakat expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakat] and for bringing hearts together and for freeing captives and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah [God] and for the [stranded] traveler” (Quran 9:60)

MAPS provides financial assistance to families or individuals in need in the local community through the distribution of religious alms (Zakat) or charity, during, determined on a case-by-case situation, up to $300.
