Zakat Workshop

Zakat is a form of alms giving, and one of the five pillars of Islam. In Islamic teachings and tradition, Zakat is considered a religious obligation, and by Quranic ranking, it is next after prayer (salah) in importance.
Zakat is a contribution paid once a year. This giving is to “cleanse” your money and possessions from excessive desire and greed. The philosophy behind Zakat is that by giving / contributing money, you learn to place less importance on material wealth.
Please join us to learn about the fundamentals of Zakat and the steps we need to take to fulfill our Zakat obligations.
