Eid-ul-Adha Announcement
Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah / Peace be up on you
The first day of Eid-al-Adha will be on Saturday, July 09, 2022. The day of Arafat will be on Friday, July 08, 2022.
As a reminder, it is highly encouraged to fast the first 9 days of Dhul-Hijjah or at least the day of Arafat. According to authentic narrations, The Prophet (PBUH) used to fast during the first 9 days of Dhul-Hijjah.
We have planned for following set of events at MAPS Redmond:
- Day of Arafat Halaqa: Sh. Joban will conduct family halaqa on Friday, July 8 starting from 8:30pm until Maghrib prayer.
- Iftar on the Day of Arafat: MAPS Redmond will be hosting a community iftar on Friday, July 8, 2022. We encourage you to either bring a dish to share or donate to the Iftar program. Please register here for the potluck and/or to donate towards the Iftar.
- There will be an Eid Bazaar on the evening of Friday, July 8, from 5pm to 10pm in the MPR, and on Eid day, Saturday, July 9, from 7am to 1pm outdoors.
- There will also be fun kids crafts from 5pm to 7pm and Henna night from 7:30 to 10pm on Friday, July 8.
- Goodie bags, treats, and balloons will be given out on Eid Day following the prayers.
- There will be four Eid prayers on Eid Day, with takbeerat starting 30 minutes before prayers. The timings are as follows:
7:30am: Br. Elyasse El-Yacoubi
9:00am: Br. Alaa Badr
11:00am: Sh. Mohammed Joban
12:30pm: Sh. Adam Jamal
In addition, MAPS Seattle will also be hosting the following events:
- Day of Arafat: MAPS Seattle will also be hosting an iftar for the community at the MAPS Seattle location on Friday, June 8th, following a Halaqa that will start at 8pm, led by Sh. Adam Jamal. Please register here for the potluck and/or to donate towards the Iftar.
- Eid Prayers: There will be two Eid prayers on the Eid Day, with takbeerat starting 30 minutes before prayers. The timings are as follows:
