The health of our community and the overall public is of utmost importance to us. We urge all of you to follow public health guidelines, including the following:

Prevention is the #1 priority: Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60% alcohol.

o   Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

o   Do not come in close contact with people who are sick.

o   Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

o   Cover your nose and mouth with either the crook of your elbow or a tissue when you sneeze or cough. Immediately throw away the tissue and wash your hands afterwards.

People at higher risk of severe illness should stay home and away from large groups of people as much as possible, including public places with lots of people and large gatherings where there will be close contact with others. People at higher risk include:

o   People 60 and older;

o   People with underlying health conditions including heart disease, lung disease, a history of stroke, or diabetes;

o   People who have weakened immune systems;

o   Pregnant women

All people should not go out when they are sick, especially with a fever, cough, or respiratory issues such as a sore throat.

Avoid visiting hospitals, long term care facilities, or nursing homes to the extent possible. If you need to go, limit your time there and keep six feet away from patients.

Do not go to the emergency room unless essential. Emergency rooms need to be able to serve those with the most critical needs. If you have symptoms like cough, fever, or other respiratory problems, contact your regular doctor first.

If you are having an emergency, please call 911. If you have symptoms like cough, fever, or other respiratory problems, please call a healthcare provider. Isolate yourself and wear a mask before leaving the house. Please do not wear masks if you do not have these symptoms— it takes resources away from those who need protection.

If you have questions about COVID-19 or believe you have been exposed, please contact King County’s novel coronavirus call center: 206-477-3977. The call center is open daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM PST. For general concerns and questions about COVID-19, please call the Washington State Novel Coronavirus Call Center at 800-525-0127.
